I want to tell you something, Mommy. I won't follow your rules from now on. I want to do as I please. How so, baby? Daddy told me that he is the man in the house and that I'm your little man. Daddy never eats broccoli and neither will I. Daddy never naps in the afternoon and neither will I. Daddy shaves his beard in the mirror and I want that too. I'm not a baby, you know. Okay, baby. Stop calling me baby - I'm no baby. I'm a man. Will you come and wipe my bum, Mommy? I'm done here.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
