I don't think I have a secret room. Not even in the attic of the nanny's house where I read Velerim and Veler God and ate nuts from previous year. Not in my soul, for I've revealed all my past loves to you. Not even in my mind, for I told you everything that went through my head throughout time. Not in my heart, next to the two implanted stents. I'm crying, without hiding somewhere in secret. I shout my love freely, only so you can hear it. You make me a secret room, if you want, and lock me in it.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
