The world is talking about a mysterious place where you can unburden your soul, like a kind of garbage-dump of the self, in which a huge dump truck, full of regrets, pieces of hope and a sea of held-back tears, releases its load and leaves to always come back with a new one. I've been trying to fill a dump truck since I was born, but even now I haven't been able to collect the necessary amount. I collect everything that upsets and hurts me, I also take from others, but it's still not enough. I must be happy.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
