He watched her dance around the house, admired her bathing, became hot-headed watching her love herself when she was alone. Always gazing into her radiance, it was the only way he filled his days and nights, he'd done nothing else since she'd left. He felt no sleep, no hunger, no pain, he had made his shield out of the quickly emptied bottles, he had no more thoughts but just sat and felt her through the images he had made in secret. They didn't search his apartment for long, the suspicious smell revealed the secret of the room in which no film was running.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
