You taught the trees to part gracefully from the past. You gave the dolphins the pleasure of playing in turquoise waves, at sunset. To the horses, you showed how to shake their manes and how to sniff a wolf. You taught the snowdrops lessons about dreams; otherwise, how would they know how much to sleep in the bulbs? You cleared the way for springs to the sea. And they find their way, no matter how many mountains they have to cross. You tactfully explained to the planets how good is to rotate around its own axis. You only kind of hurried with the lessons with me, Puppeteer.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
