Mother, I adore you. I know they're hurting you. Mother, you're the most beautiful. Yes, mother, bones too. Very hard. Mother, I love you until the end of the world. You too Dumi, you too. I make mistakes too. My beautiful mother. Yes, mother, home, it's good that I'm home. My beloved mother. My wonder, my love. I don't know how to bring you back, to hold you in my arms, to be a child and not to leave, mother. Yours, mother's dearest, forever. I played with you a little bit, the phone game, so that you don't cry. Until you figure it out, my child, I am your child, I am going to be born in the stars.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
