Nulla dies sine linea, said the old shepherd who had activated the transhumance function on his bionic arm supported by his beautifully carved club. I don't understand. It's all right, that's how it is when you're young and illiterate, I'll explain it right away so you'll understand. And with those abrasive nickel green eyes he stared at me as if in a trance, raising his stick and showing me some inscriptions on it. I don't let a day go by without writing something. Here's Miorița. Do you know what that is? Some kind of a Dolly? No. She's my soul.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2021, the group has 7.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
