One coin of 20 bani means two sold cigarettes by the piece or the voice from the phone of the street corner. He entered the cabin. He took off the paper. He typed in the phone number. He called. On the other side, there is a mischievous woman voice. Hello, you phoned to Good Girls. But for you they can be even naughty. If you want we can make acquaintance. A busy tone. He rushed in the house. He gets in the shower hearing the voice coming from the phone. He gets out in the balcony with his bare ass where the cigarette waits for him. As a victorious runner, he takes heartily his first puff. Tomorrow I am going to draw a ticket and take one more puff.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2021, the group has 7.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
