Life has thrown me a couple of time in this room. Always unprepared, but with my heart open. I did not know whether I was the one waiting or the one waited for. It looked like a room hanging from the clouds, where feelings were numb. Inside it, all of my people from the other world are allowing themselves to be seen. Each in his own corner. Grandma is still fortune telling. Grandpa is digging in the garden. The other grandparents are still watching TV, my uncle is crafting something. I can see them, but I can not touch them, just like the shade coming from a cut down tree. So I wave at them and shout. May you rest in peace.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2021, the group has 7.750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
