My ole father, let me tell you a story and you can say whether if it is true or not. Before the stars fall, they stand lined up like the bottles from the queue of milk would once do. They do not talk to each other, they just blink in silence and contemplate in their head on deep topics and take notes in the palms of their hands. Provided that one of them speaks, she instantly fades out and loses the chance to fall. The rest of them listen to us and patiently wait for their turn to come. If you look from below you can see a milky streak on the sky and you know, in your heart, that hopes are building a nest in the arms of patience.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2021, the group has 7.750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
