We've been together forever. It was meant to be. And you were dear to me and I loved you and I made sure we were okay. And so have you. I know. But I don't know what the hell happened to you. You got big. Biiig. And you talk a lot. And if you don't talk, you eat a lot. And if you don't eat, you drink a lot. And you don't hear me. You can feel that it hurts me. You tell me I make you sad, but how much can I take? Look what you've done to me. Fat, tired, sick, on the verge of cirrhosis. I'm a poor liver, so please, I'm begging you: stop it, fuck off.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
