She wasn't beautiful, she wasn't good at anything, but because instead of saying good morning, he said you're beautiful, she became beautiful day by day, and because instead of saying good night, he kissed her hands, she became good at everything she did. He wasn't handsome, nor was he strong, but because she, instead of good morning, smiled looking at him, he became beautiful day by day, and because she, instead of good night, cuddled in his arms, he became strong in everything he did. A couple of freaks, that's all.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
