The older sister, lazy and evil, went out into the world, passed the collapsed oven and pretended not to see it. The queen bee had no chance, the pear tree was dry, uncleaned. When she met him, he set out to save the kingdom. Can I join you? A girl like you can't travel alone. At the brass bridge, the dragon decided their fate: the emperor's eldest son ran back to the castle. Who do you leave me to?, cried the girl. It's like me, he thought, damn it, why not? And they lived happily ever after.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
