I wake up at 4 to catch the 6 o'clock train. I sit four seats away. We parted 6 years ago and 1 year ago we met again. Anyway, I noticed she's taking the same train. I always hide behind a book. She gets off at the end, then takes the bus 3 more stops and gets to work. After all this walking around remembering us, I take the bus back to the station, then the train another 6 stops. In the evening, she leaves at 17. I drive her near her home. For a few seconds she leaves the door ajar, but there's not enough space to get inside.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
