Sometimes I don't turn on the light when I go upstairs, so now, a sensitive sole, tingled with many roads, knows its way to the treadmill. It's totally dark upstairs, like in my soul since he left. A slit of light seeping through the bedroom door pierces the darkness and gently stabs him. I stop in amazement on the steps. The child had ridden the beam of light and with the right hand raised in the air handed them. Diii. Like a blond-haired angel wearing a cherub on his chariot. Come on up, let's fly high, he said.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
