I should look for a job. Oh, what a pity, I burned the newspaper where the job postings are written. It's a sign that I must remain the Painter in the Public Toilets. It's not okay to ask men when they're peeing if I can make their portrait fast. Some want me to draw them as I find them, but to add something, others give me their phone numbers, others run me. Today I want to go to women too. I need to find an Art student who understands me. Let me put on this wig. Perfect. Salvadora Dalida.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
