I cheated on him. Just when the clock was hitting New Year time, I used to send virtual chats with an artist from another city, another song, another world, at a great distance. I seduced him and I disappeared like a righteous fanatic. I went back to the cheated one. Shame doesn't bother me after so many feelings of the same story. I'm surprised I didn't get bored of myself. Or maybe yes? That I don't feel anymore, I don't like it anymore? Am I looking for confirmations? And I promised myself, more than once, to stay in my pen, sedated by the lie of monogamy.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
