Baby, you are a big girl and starting this year, you'll sleep alone in your room as you promised, right? The child nodded reluctantly. Mommy kissed her on the cheeks and flew to the bedroom, to daddy, fresh back from the exile in the pink bedroom. We finally did it, they rejoiced, when a pink pillow followed by a few golden curls appeared at the door. Daddy, take your pillow and go to your room because I'm sleeping with mommy. In this case, will you sleep alone tomorrow? he asked with hope. Not tomorrow, but when I grow up.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
