There was this story written in the time of King Iohanniche The Goth, when the Chinese plague had begun to walk unhindered, frightening the ordinary people, as well as the scholars and the savants. As the new year came, the faithful have become accustomed to wishing themselves various things, in order to happen in their futures, to live an easy life. However, many of them used to twist the rules in their favour, disgracing themselves. So, for the sake of guarding the New Year's promises, I did not set out any resolutions.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
