I feel like a hostess every time I post something on Facebook. It's like turning on the lights all around the house, putting on a gown, and solemnly sitting near the front door window to see who's coming. Please, come in, eat, please. Let's turn on the music, I've got numb from waiting. Let's talk, let's laugh out loud, let's make mistakes. But every time, only a few people show up and not even those feel like talking. Again, I'll have to take off my dress for a little conversation.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
