Tomorrow New Year changes its clothes, and I renew my mind as well. Yes, I bluntly admit in front of the creature that I can no longer stand itself. I can't stand its exertions and its linguistic rants. What am I, manager or the carpet where she wipes off her high heels? Her English calmness gets me off my Romanian hinges. The Brownian movement for Berzelius glasses, says an old saying. So she should better not wave her scarves like Isadora or she could get it bad. Boss, what should it be today: frappuccino or macchiato?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
