I wake up at the cave's door with a dwarf. It's a so called hobbit. It wanted my treasure. Such a fool. Now it is bald as well. However, we made a pact. It promised that I'll hook up with a stunning she-unicorn if I spare its life. I agreed upon that. Perhaps I am cranky, but I am still pinning for love. I can't wait to hug her in my wings. I swear I'll be different. No more flames. Tender, gentle, loving. A dragolau. Shhh. She's coming. My love. Look how she's shaking her mane and scatters glitter everywhere. My eyes are full of tears and ah ahah ahchoo. Fuck.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
