Mommy, why are two men or two girls kissing on the street? Because they love each other. How comes? I don't understand. Let me explain. Look, when I was a student, the philosophy teacher at the exam allowed me to extract a ticket for the exam, but he didn't examine me from it, I passed the exam and, as a bonus, a scholarship for the permit. I don't understand anything. Wait, patience. He asked me what's the difference between negativism and nihilism. Mommy, I'm more confused than before. You hurry up too much, listen to my answer. It's neither good nor bad that they are kissing, they love each other.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
