I woke up naked in the garden, again. I was so hungry, that I could have eaten anything but one thing, because it made me bloated. I've dusted my knees off and looked up. It was him. Standing with pectorals, squares and masts in the wind. Ravenous too, he was devouring me with his eyes. We held our hands and walked among the roses, then we sit at a table. The waiter brought us the menu, we ordered and enjoyed the meal. Suddenly, we heard a stressful hiss. F*ck it, I told myself I'd never eat apple in my life again, now we are lost again.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
