You knew for sure that there was a room 101, although the porter stopped you and explained in detail how the building is organized and especially that it is perfectly symmetrical, so it cannot have an odd number of rooms. But you passed him quickly and went up all the steps to the top floor, followed the labels on the door frame, and after the one with number 100 you opened the window and you stepped on the windowsill. The rabbit asked you if you would like some tea, and you agreed with a polite smile.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
