The wind was howling. The girl was listening. The window was open and he was smoking. It's warm outside. Crowded streets, plenty of people, sparrows on tree branches. They were cirruping terribly, but I do not know through what method God managed to make people have a conversation, whether it be illogical or just so that people hear each other talk, Although birds sing and the wind is howling and not dispelling, only gathering and collecting minds and hearts, it matches them and lets them talk about love in a hotel room by a window that lets out cigarette smoke, but has no drape to flutter.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
