Matei, you shouldn't have gone into that room. Why? The following day, the sun crept into the room where I am admitted. It was almost as if it was trying to give me a helping ray. I looked out the window and started building a superhero army out of clouds. Matei? It is time. I did not know what time was for so I ran away. Behind me there were the white-clad people, the anti-angels. Going into that room was my last chance. I opened the door. The following day, the sun crept into the room where I am admitted. It was almost as if it was trying to give me a helping ray.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
