It was as if the Earth had disappeared, and in its place countless luminous particles sought their shape. Time had frozen for the first time, and Darkness could no longer find its place in the triad. The divine eye looked tired and just hoped to fall asleep. We were all returning to nothingness. There were no senses, beginning, end or golden numbers. The geometry had evaporated and no new elements were not forming any longer. Pyr was just a lint in Atum's beard. In another world, in a block of flats, an old woman turned 101 years old all alone.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
