I suffer from even-number addiction. Thank God I have two hands, two legs, two eyes and two ears. My pants always have two legs, my shirts have two sleeves and my pants have two pockets. Underneath I either wear two pairs of underwear, or I wear none. I'd rather not have breakfast than make an omelet from the last egg left. I have two daughters, two dogs and two cats. I also have two women, one of them is my wife. Recently, my mistress left me. I'm in a bind: should I divorce my wife or should I look for a new mistress?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
