For the last 20 years, John hasn't been touched by anyone. He's not only depressed, but lost. This year, with the occasion of the Pink Parade, John gets high and dances in the balcony of his luxurious apartment having a canal in sight. People unleash, John unleashes. People kiss on the street, John removes his clothes shily. Cheers, man. A pedestrian shouts. John feels euphoric. Being naked, he does not recognize his body anymore. The pedestrians point him out. John jumps in the crowd, smashing himself by the sideway. A man dies without meaning.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
