I've come here to save you from your wicked stepmother, you Cinderella, as I've heard she's treating you unproperly and doing you dirty, I've come here riding a white horse, but you've been rejecting me - telling me that you're afraid of horses and you don't even like the show anymore and don't want to try it on, but I've been keeping it under my pillow since the night you lost it and I can't even sleep without it. I'm telling you to get your shit together and come with me, otherwise you'll mess up all of these lil brats' childhood who read fairy tales, but anyway, just to let you know - you're not getting the shoe back.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
