I am married with him. Even though he died poisoned, I have not forgotten him, I love him beyond that death that did us part. I wait for the last ticking of time. Because when I feel well for a split of a second, I remember that he is not alive anymore and the moment becomes horrible, as I cannot share it with him. But I can hardly wait to be near him. I know that it makes no sense what I am saying right now, I am a rational woman, I do not believe in afterlife. I know. Romeo does not exist anymore. But I prefer not to exist near him, instead of living without him. Do you get it?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
