Comrades, now we must play the balcony scene. Oleg is Romeo, Ludmila is Juliet. Comrade director, we have couple of problems. In the Soviet Union, we do not have problems, we have challenges. Do tell me! Well, the first challenge would be that we do not have a balcony. It is ok, we will make one from paperboard. This is the second challenge, I was suspecting it too. But comrade Ludmila is a fatty, the balcony will fall with her. Then, comrade Oleg will stay up, as he is stunted. Yes, but, comrade Oleg is drunk, it is quite a given he will fall. I found it: we cut the scene.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
