The start of the old age comes the day you realize the 70s were 50 years ago. All the drama, your dreams, the great love stories and, with a little bit of luck, your great devilries are lost somewhere in the past. You did everything, you thought about everything, you hoped, you saw everything, you tried everything, except the small things left to enjoy at the end of your life. Your grandchildren are the most beautiful part. And your retirement. While I was thinking about all of these, I fell in love and just like this, carelessly, I became immortal. Or maybe I became young too late.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
