so much time for a long time. This is what They say. But there is a saying: an oak is not felled at one's stroke. And if I think about it, old man, I don't even know what to say about this situation in which one dies. When you retire you have enough time to chew on your thoughts, teeth or not. And I've reached the conclusion that the man doesn't actually dies when the heart stops beating. He dies when he doesn't feel important and treasured anymore. Why should I feed the satisfaction of those who say I've eaten the bread of idleness and made liberal use of money? No, my dear, I will start it all over again.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
