I'm not special whatsoever, such is life, but I won't wait forty days for them to do it. I choose the anticipated version, under the reason of an existential fatigue and a desire for fresh air. I'm retiring to the countryside, I say. I want to feel nature, down to the very blade of grass. We'll talk on the phone, kisses, hugs, and good wishes. On the plane, I dream about of the hacienda at the foot of the volcano and the Arabica bushes who produce the best coffee. Look, I didn't work for nothing. Every euro taken from the accounts of thousands of customers has found its place.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2022, the group has 8,050 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
