Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. My child, what have you done? Did you commit adultery? No. Tell me the truth, do you smoke, drink, or go to the disco to listen to that evil satanic music? You know, it might draw the eye of a young girl like you. No, father, I don't do that. So be it. You are pretty, God Almighty gave you this gift so, do you video chat and sell your body this way? You know, this too is a great sin. No father, I work at the bank. Ok then, do you steal from them? No. My child, what is your sin? I lie all the time. I just can't help myself.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2022, the group has 8,050 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
