Put it on like that, you idiot, not the other way around, the doors are going to close and we will behead him. How is it possible that you don't bring the bag from the morgue? Damn it, John, what do we do now? What if someone else enters the elevator with us and sees him without a bag, without a coffin? How did he die? And why the hell does he want his wife to have the funeral the tenth floor? She must have loved him. At least if it was in the bag, people wouldn't look at us so bewildered. Look, a human life and ten floors to go up and down. Come on, stop with that cigarette and fucking hold him, God please forgive me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2022, the group has 8,175 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
