You put your breast into my mouth, diapers on my bottom, chose my clothes, food, and teacher. I told you that I want to play handball, you took me to piano lessons, I was showing you my poems, you were explaining me chemistry. I wanted to go to the mountains, you were taking me to the sea. I wanted to stay in my room and read novels, you put me to iron piles of clothes. I wanted to enroll in the Faculty of Letters, you told me that my future is Medicine. I wanted to rent my own place. You told me that I won't be able to make it on my own. Now I'm all by myself at the train station and I don't know which train should I choose.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2022, the group has 8,750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
