Digging in the belly of the new earth that was to receive Moisica, the gravediggers found the golden teeth of his good old Aron, who was waiting for him laughing in the other world. Then they came across a bottle with a cork firmly stuck in it. Look how full of beads it is, said the one who found it. Drink it, you jesters, he said, wiping the sweat from his brow. The next day Moses arrived at the edge of the next world, guided by a ray of sunshine and the words of the priest, who said that he was a good man, who left his mark on the world like an earthworm.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
