If we have this chance, let's use it well. Let me start with my parents' childhood, with my grandparents', I mean, and I would turn even more back in time, to my grandparents' grandparents. Let's start from there. Not just my kins, the kins of everybody. Let's have a revolution of beautifully recreted childhoods, as books call it, as it should have been. I wouldn't be the only one that was happy now, just imagine a word where everyone would. We would all be kind to each other and would achieve great things. Or maybe not, but we would have no one to put the blame on, either.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
