Can you imagine a unicorn there where the cloud is? I can't. You can't taste words' candy flavour. Put up your vodka drink. Not even vodka can paint some emotion inside of you. Your feet can only feel the crumbled sand left behind your relationships. Where's the song of the steps not yet taken? There you go. Throw you fists up at the wind as you threw them at your mother's skirt. I've taken your toy, that cardboard maturity. Here it is. Remember the stories. They're true. Listen to the siren way out there. Take off your skin. Run to her, naked soul. Laugh. Laugh from your heart, like you did back then.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
