When Tom Sawyer and Gulliver don't impress the mini-human stunned by the swelter of the summer season, the mini-human starts to wander at what she might do to control her excessive boredom. She starts going door to door. Mom is paying bills, she's thinking how much money she's got left until payday, she's thinking of her family, grandpa is smoking, he is thinking and that's about it. No one has any time to lose. Not even Tom Sawyer or Gulliver. The mini-human is wondering what it's like to be JUST a human.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
