Mno, you, just don't go with the big ones to the boar. There's the danger. Well, motherLeti, I'm going to look after your corn. And we would build a fire to the sky, the dogs would snuff out the ghosts of summer, the neighbors would shoot carbide, the crickets would madly drag their violins through the grass, and I would eat bacon on the embers and the grease would run down my fingers. By four o'clock the fire was out, the dogs were sleeping, the hill was beginning to tremble: the big sow with her piglets were breaking the distant path, to reach my grandmother's corn, bypassing my peaceful sleep as a child.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
