I come from the year 2202. I've been sent to spy on the Bolsheviks and pass the information to the tsarists, in order to prevent the great revolution. Maybe that way, we'll prevent the 2022 crisis and the third world war. But I got caught. I told them: guys, millions of you are going to die in communism, poor and stupid. Now I'm standing before the execution platoon and I keep pressing the button on the remote that's supposed to take me back to the future before I get shot. No use. Those damned Chinese, you can't find anything these days other than the crap they make.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
