She gave off a mysterious, lascivious smell that tamed all the men who wanted her to the point of desperation. She would smear the walls with horse dung and throw their horseshoes on full moon nights. She would walk naked, levitating and searching in solitude for the meaning of her coming to Earth. She couldn't suffer clothes, sometimes she would cover her body in a sack made out of banana leaves. She would play with goldfish that came to life at the touch of her translucent hand. When she entwined her hands in the white sheets, she flew towards the sunrise.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
