How the fuck was I supposed to know that she's the youngest daughter of Gicu Toporișcă? They don't look alike. He's fat with thick lips, and she's the sweetest of them all. When I saw her in the club, my knees got weak. I came closer and introduced myself: Mai neimiz Gelu Pardalian. She smiled and answered: I'm Bionce, but you can call me Pusha. I bought her some tequila shots, then took her to my studio. I find out that his father wanders around the neighbourhood with his sword, ready to cut the thing off to the one who's popped his daughter. I only have two options: either I flee to Jermany, or I change my sex.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
