Everything was clear. We were the most beautiful, we couldn't take our eyes off of each other, the chemistry brought us so close that we only managed to have one exchange of lines before we broke free. Win me in only four words, I said to him. I have a bookshelf, he answered, and we both jumped into a tight embrace, kissing each other thirstily and rolling on the warm sand from Vama until we reached the tent, which we set on fire for 25 minutes straight. We were breathing heavily, you could read the happiness on our faces, when he added: I keep trinkets in it.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
