I'm going to leave, I'm going out in the world, I can't stand this city anymore, these people are not human, I'm sick of them, I'll be free, on my own, different mentality, maybe university, finally free and long nights, alcohol, I want to live my life, I don't want to explain myself to anyone, you can't hold me anymore, I'll have new friends, I'll be fine, I'll show you that you don't know anything, what's good for you isn't good for me, leave me alone, I'm 18. After another 18 years, I'd tell them I wasn't right, but I don't have anyone to tell anymore.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
