- my father left it to me on his death bed. He had buried so many people, that even Death seemed to have been gentle with him. He died, thrust up into a blonde girl. He didn't want to be buried, he was allergic to worms, so we burned him down to ashes and cinder, just like he used to call mom: my wild Cinderella. My mother - a tragic death - her heel broke and hit her head on the pavement. Now they're both sitting on my fireplace, keeping each other company. Now I am totally rebranding the firm. I do not wish anybody's death, but my offers might make one wish to rid oneself of some relatives. Pay three, get two free.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
